The European Commission has decided to appoint Christos Stylianides, a Cypriot national, as Special Envoy for the promotion of freedom of religion or belief outside the EU.

Mr. Stylianides is a former member of the EU parliament, as well as the former EU Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, and known for his stance for cooperation in Europe.

The EHF looks forward to working with Mr. Stylianides in the future, and hopes to see him work towards the protection of non-believers and the promotion of human rights for all.
