Our Members
There are many humanist organisations both in Europe and across the world – for a world list see the HI website. The EHF is the largest European umbrella organisation of non-religious organisations, including humanists, free-thinkers, agnostics, atheists, skeptics, rationalists and non-believers.
Our 63 member organisations are very diverse. Some were created fairly recently, others are over two centuries old. Some embrace millions of members while others have only a few dozens. Some work at grassroots level, dealing with social issues, humanist ceremonies, counselling, leisure activities or education; others are more interested in reflection, personal fulfilment or philosophical enquiry while others again are particularly active in campaigning for a secular state or to promote a non-religious lifestance.
The EHF welcomes membership applications from organisations promoting humanism and/or secularism in Europe.
