The European Humanist Federation is pleased to support the call for application for the 2016 Henri La Fontaine Prize for Humanism.

This prize, awarded by the Henri La Fontaine Foundation, is intended to honor individuals, institutions or public or private bodies contributing significantly to the protection, spreading and progression of values that Henri La Fontaine defended during his life. These span the promotion of peace, humanism, social justice, feminism and self-examination.

The prize rules can be found here and the deadline for submitting an application is 1 September 2016. Following this, the jury will meet in October 2016 and will be chaired by French-Lebanese author Amin Maalouf. The Prize ceremony will take place on 10 December, the International Human Rights Day, where the winner will be awarded € 10.000 for his or her endeavors.
