Jérôme Lejeune is an anti-choice and anti-euthanasia research institute.

 

Fondation Jérôme Lejeune is a scientific research foundation focused on Down syndrome (named after Jérôme Lejeune, who participated to the discovery of the cause of Down syndrome in 1959). Whilst focused on researching Down syndrome, the foundation promotes a clear anti-choice stance with regards to abortion.

Persons involved:

Jean-Marie Le Méné: Chairman.

Member of the Pontifical Academy for Life and of the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Health Care Workers. Leads Gènéthique, a website providing informations on bio-ethical issues with an anti-choice narrative. Statement: “The tragedy of abortion is the termination of life of a human being.” (1) Compares abortion following fetal malformations with the nazi racial selection (2).

Thierry de La Villejégu: Executive Director.

Links with other organisations: Jérôme Lejeune Foundation USA, World Youth Alliance. Created the Gènéthique ‘ethical bionews’ website. A book by Peter Hertel mentions that they are linked with Opus Dei (3).
